Aleksei Vladimir Volik, IE ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Caloree mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information obtained through the Caloree mobile application. By using our App, you understand and agree to the collection, storage, processing, and use of your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information You Provide

We collect the following information that you voluntarily provide during the onboarding process:

Gender: Male, Female, or Other
Age: Your age in years
Height: Your height in centimeters or feet/inches
Current Weight: Your current weight in kilograms or pounds
Goal Weight: Your desired target weight
Weight Goal Type: Whether you want to lose weight, gain weight, or maintain your current weight
Goal Speed: How quickly you want to reach your goal (slow, medium, or fast)
Activity Level: Your daily physical activity level (sedentary, light, moderate, active, or very active)
Unit System Preference: Metric or Imperial units

1.2 Photos and Camera Access

We request access to your device's camera and photo gallery to enable you to:

Take photos of food for calorie analysis
Upload photos from your gallery for analysis

Important: Photos are processed using AI (OpenAI API) to analyze calorie and nutritional content. Photos are not permanently stored on our servers and are deleted after analysis is complete. Photos are not used to identify users and are not used for advertising or tracking purposes.

1.3 Locally Stored Data

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is not transmitted to our servers:

Your daily calorie intake history
Photos and history of scanned meals
Weight tracking data and progress graphs
Calculated daily calorie, protein, fat, and carbohydrate targets
App preferences and settings
Onboarding completion status

Data Deletion: If you delete the App from your device, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

1.4 Analytics and Usage Data

We collect non-personal usage data through third-party analytics services to improve the App:

AppsFlyer: Tracks app installation source, user acquisition, and in-app events (subscription, scanning events)
Mixpanel: Tracks user behavior, screen views, button clicks, and feature usage to improve user experience

This data includes:

Device type, operating system, and app version
Country and language settings (approximate location based on IP address)
Session duration and frequency of app use
Feature usage and interaction data

Analytics data is used in aggregated form and is not used to personally identify individual users.

1.5 Advertising Tracking and App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

We may use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), if permitted by you, solely for advertising attribution and campaign performance measurement through AppsFlyer.

In accordance with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, we will request your permission before accessing the advertising identifier (IDFA). You can choose to allow or deny tracking at any time through your device settings.

If you choose not to allow tracking, we will not access the IDFA and tracking will be limited.

1.6 Subscription and Purchase Data

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat collects:

Purchase history (anonymous subscription ID)
Subscription status (active, expired, or canceled)
Purchase date and renewal information

Important: Payment information is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card, debit card, or other payment information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

Personalized Recommendations: Calculate your daily calorie and macronutrient targets based on your profile
Food Analysis: Process food photos using AI (OpenAI GPT API) to provide calorie and nutritional estimates
App Functionality: Provide core features such as meal tracking, progress monitoring, and goal setting
Service Improvement: Analyze usage patterns to improve app features and user experience
Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries and provide technical support
Marketing and Advertising: Track advertising campaign effectiveness through AppsFlyer (for TikTok Ads, Instagram, YouTube, and organic traffic)
Subscription Management: Manage your subscription status and provide access to premium features

3. Subscription and Usage Limits

3.1 Subscription Requirement

Access to the AI-powered food scanning feature requires an active subscription or free trial. Food scanning is not available to users without a subscription.

3.2 Daily Scanning Limits

To ensure fair usage and protect against excessive automated activity, we implement the following limits:

Free Users (No Subscription): No access to food scanning feature
Premium Subscribers and Trial Users: Maximum of 35-40 AI scanning requests per day

These limits help us maintain service quality, prevent abuse of our AI analysis features, and manage API costs. We reserve the right to adjust these limits at any time.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect and process your data:

4.1 OpenAI API

We use OpenAI's GPT API to analyze food photos and provide calorie estimates. Food photos are temporarily processed by OpenAI and are not permanently stored. For more information, see OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

4.2 AppsFlyer

We use AppsFlyer for mobile attribution and analytics. AppsFlyer collects device identifiers, app events, and advertising campaign data. For more information, see AppsFlyer's Privacy Policy.

4.3 Mixpanel

We use Mixpanel for product analytics to understand user behavior and improve the app. For more information, see Mixpanel's Privacy Policy.

4.4 RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and validate App Store receipts. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers: With third-party service providers (OpenAI, AppsFlyer, Mixpanel, RevenueCat) who help us operate the App
Legal Requirements: When required by law, legal process, or government request
Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy
Protection of Rights: To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users

6. Data Security

We are committed to protecting your information. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data, including:

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access and Update: You can access and update your profile information within the App settings
Delete Data: You can delete all your data by uninstalling the App from your device
Limit Tracking: You can limit tracking by denying App Tracking Transparency permission on your device. You can also control analytics permissions through your device privacy settings.
Manage Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store account settings
Withdraw Consent: You can revoke camera or photo gallery permissions in your device settings

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information immediately. 9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your country. We rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards to ensure appropriate protection of your data. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We will notify you of any material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
